The Foundation is independent. When the founder died in 1953, he left no children or close relations to succeed him.

The Foundation is represented by the governing bodies which implement its objects, namely the Foundation Board dealing with strategic questions, the Investment Committee with the asset portfolio and the Scientifique Committee with awards. Current business is conducted by the Management Office.
