The Hasler Foundation is committed primarily to promoting research and training in the field of telecommunications, distributed information systems and related topics.

Through its work, the Foundation actively helps to ensure that Switzerland continues to enjoy high-level know-how in this fundamental area of infrastructure.

The Foundation's existing endowments derive from the former Hasler AG (1852-1986), the pioneer of the Swiss telecommunications industry.

The Hasler Foundation is a non-profit-making institution which uses the net income from its assets to serve the progress of telecommunications and the future of Switzerland.


Hasler Foundation Mission Statement

The purpose of the foundation is to finance or co-finance carefully selected education and research projects in the area of information and communications technology, and by so doing to contribute positively to the development of Switzerland as an intellectual and economic area.

The foundation aims to:

be known and recognised as a competent and efficient promotional agent in the field of ICT;

promote original, scientifically first-rate research – relevant to theory or practice – in the field of ICT at Swiss universities*;

contribute to the development of a highly-qualified next generation of university* teaching and research staff in the field of ICT;

contribute to the development of a soundly-qualified next generation of ICT professionals;

     
5.  

to contribute to the worldwide exchange of knowledge within and with the world of science in order to assure a state-of-the-art level of teaching, research and industrial projects;

contribute to ensuring rapid and effective technology transfer from research to commercial application.
